Default align BEC wiring???

ok, i just got a crawler in a trade...and it's got an Align RCE-B3X on it.....and it's getting VERY hot (temped it at 140*F) The input says 7.4v (2s) but it came with a 3s.

now....do i even NEED the bec?
setup:
Mamba max
45t
airtronics 94780 on steering
vf dig w/z270 on it
run on an m11
3s flight power evolite v2 battery

the bec only has 2 wires input/output where the CC has 3....does that matter?

the wires leading from the MM to the rx are not using the red wire like you're supposed to...but should i just bypass the BEC and solder on a new plug and go from there????

please help, i wanna crawl lol

Your 94780 is going to draw more than the 3 amps that your current bec can handle, let alone the fact that you are already exceeding the rated voltage of the RCE-B3X.

Get a Castle Creations bec and save yourself the headaches. Cick here

That servo has 423 in/oz of torque at 6v. plus a standard dig servo, I believe you will need a separate bec.

You can always try it without one, the mamba max has a good bec, but my guess is it will thermal without a separate bec.

Give it a try

lol...$25 servo :-p

but, yeah....i just tried it out...and it's acting weird. the dig will sometimes kick it cause the dig servo tries to recenter when i go WOT...and the steering slows down considerably, so i guess i'm over drawing it?

i'll get a bec
