DIY Voltage regulator 6 (or 5) volts output
 

I had a problem with a sensitive servo of mine... who wanted a maximum of 6volts input power only.

The ESC I was using was a cheap TEU101BK which produces 7.2volts power when connected to the receiver. Because of this I couldn't use my servo.

I decided to call up a friend and suggested me to use a voltage regulator IC - 7806 (what I got was an AN7806 but sometimes it is also sold as LM7806 or UA7806)

with 2 electrolytic capacitors, I got my cheap (less than a dollar worth) voltage regulator.

materials:

1 pc 7806 Voltage regulator IC in T0-220 packaging (use 7805 if you want 5volts output)
1 pc 100uF 25volt Electrolytic capacitor
1 pc 1000uF 25volt Electrolytic capacitor
some wires (I used old wires from broken servo)

Ideally the IC should be placed in a heatsink, insulation between the IC and heatsink may be needed.
