Default TQ4 NEW RADIO 4 channel Pistol Questions

Just the Traxxas Summit at LHS, wow , selective front/rear locking diffs and a 2 speed tranny with 25:1 ratio for crawling.

Question Can you use Digital servo's ?
Can you Mod the pistol Red switch for proportional rear steer ?

Do you guys think this would be a decent radio of 4ch instead of using a DX6 ?

I have a DX6 which is great, but only using 4 channels since I never got my front dig setup working, with single motor. I dont do any fancy channel mixing so just using as a basic 4 channel radio

Thanks

No to digital servos.
No to the red switch for proportional rear steer, the red switch is only two position. ON and OFF used for high speed and low speed. You can maybe use the flip switch for rear steer as that is 3 positions, but it won't be proportional...

Overall, I think you're better off w/ what you have.

Oh shoot out to CAMPBALL, CA!! I'm in that area too.

thanks for the reply
but are you sure, have tried it?

Works on my TQ3. just not the 3rd channel red switch, which I did the 3 way mod for and now it works.

I asked on ebay and they said yes, but I'm not sure about that.
Even the folks in stores that sell them do not realize that you can not use digital on ch3.

When I can I think I'll go Futaba 4pk

Sorry, let me rephase my statement on digital servos.

You can use it, but you won't be able to maximize its framerates as you would on a high end radio.

Out of the box without modding, you won't be able to get what you want on that TQ4 radio. Plus I don't recall seeing epa adjustments for channel 3 and 4.

I haven't tried, but just using it and looking at it, without modding it, it's not going to satisfy you.
