Glitch Buster Opto-Isolator
 
Has anyone ever ran one of these to eliminate glitching?

And how well does it work?

Looks like you'd need a separate battery or BEC for the receiver, which is probably for the best as to also eliminate noise from being propagated down the power rail as well.

I've never heard of it, but based on my (admittedly limited) knowledge of electronics, I can't figure out what that gadget does, apart from costing 20 dollars. It almost sounds like it only opens the BEC circuit from the ESC, which you can do for free by pulling the middle wire out of the plug. It may well do something more interesting than that, but with as little explanation as they offer, and the use of the dubious term "opto-isolator" I'm highly skeptical. This gadget looks far less like snake oil to me, and is less expensive: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...P?I=LXNRE0&P=8 Capacitors are widely used to absorb electrical spikes and cut down on RF noise, and are highly effective.

An optical isolator is probably overkill for r/c. 9 times out of ten, a ferrite choke will perform miracles on noise interference, along with caps. But like the guy before my post said, 2.4GHz is the trouble free way to go for radios.

Ferrite choke, I never even thought to do that [already use 2.4Ghz & Capacitors & Twisted servo wires].
I picked up a couple of these EMI/RFI snap on chokes and eliminated some 90% of my glitching.

We used to use a Ferrite choke on am car radios to get rid of copper plug wire interference in the old days. Man I'm old :shock:
