| Futaba 3PM-MX Crawling Radio - Info and setups The new Futaba 3PM-MX How to setup a 3 position switch How to set your 3rd channel EPA Well everyone this is the radio that I have been waiting for from Futaba. This is a simple 2.4ghz radio with a multi position 3rd channel. Some of you got to see it this weekend at LaGuerra en Rocas Rojo but I didn’t get to show it off as much as I would have liked to due to not being able to keep driveshafts in the C10. When I first joined Futaba this was one of the first things that we talked about Crawling needing. They told me what the plan was and I just patiently waited, but still checked in regularly as I was anxious to get a hold of this thing. This is the first model to be sent out, so you get to see it here first! This is a reasonably priced 3 channel radio with 3 positions (and more!). Futaba took the programming for the 3rd channel right out of the 4PK and 3PK, so you can actually set the 3rd channel to have 2,3,5,10, all the way to 200 positions! Not that I can think of a use for 200 positions but it sure has it if you can. Maybe we can convince Punk R/C to create us an insane little box with 200 outputs All of the buttons are assignable so you can choose what toggle you want to use to control your 3rd channel. It is incredibly simple! The radio also has settings for 4 wheel steering that can be toggled through on the fly. You can see here how the display will show you what mode you are in y the dashed lines. I will get a video demo of this as soon as I get my super going (JEFF!). There is also setting for setting up standard mixing however you would like, and I will go through step-by-step walk throughs of that as soon as I can. I just wanted to give you all a quick look and introduction to the radio. This is just made to be an affordable option that will get many of you taken care of without having to spend more than your truck cost originally. It still uses 8AA batteries so it is a little heavier than the DX3R. This is a simple radio packed with great features for a price that is more than $100 cheaper than the DX3R. I will get pictures of my radio posted up as soon as I get a chance tonight. I have it hooked up to my C10 SCX-10 with an Eritex Inc HRD 3.1 dig system. I will get a video of how it is used as well. As always feel free to post up questions in this thread and I will do my best to get you any answers I can. Last edited by Harley; 09-03-2009 at 10:35 AM. |

I hope Futaba did it right. So I'm hoping the ALT lever (DT4) can be set up as a 3 position switch on channel 3 and the the push switch can be set up for ft dig/4wd like my 3pk? I don't really care about 4 wheel steering. Don't tell me ya still got to do the switch 1 - switch 2 thing to get three positions.

OK, so you guys have been asking me about a less expensive crawler TX by Futaba ......Well it is here. Just found out that this system will sell for $179.99 (Tower Hobbies) . More features and cheaper than our current 3PM. |

So this seems to be pretty close functionality wise to the old 3PD-FX? If so, sweet, because I love that radio but everything about it has taken a beating and is showing its age.

This is an early preview, the press release hasn't even been done I was told they are already on the way though and should be here soon. Mine came in a plain cardboard box with some paper in it. The manual was just a bunch of paper stapled together. I just wanted to show all you guys first before the magazines got it We should have the rest of the info soon. |

Looks promising. What is the technical difference between the R603FF and R603FS 2.4 gig receivers? 10 model memory as well? Last edited by CreepyCrawl; 07-20-2009 at 11:32 PM. |

Awesome package, guess I'll wait to pick up a new radio. I've been using futaba radios for 20 years. Wow, it's been that long, crazy. Anyway, will the directions be as confusing as the 3PM -FM ones are? I still can't make heads or tails of them.

| I will try and make everything as clear as possible as it applies to crawlers. It only took me about 5 mins to turn the radio on, program all the buttons, and set the end points for the Eritex dig. It was pretty simple.
