Charging Question, Quick help Quick question. I have a Triton EQ Charger, and 3c Lipo batteries. One of the batteries is a 1320mAh and the charger only has options in 50mAh incriments. Should I charge that battery on 1300mAh or 1350mAh? And if possible, why either 1300 or 1350. I'd like to learn :) Thanks |
Either are fine. You want to stay as close to 1C as possible just for the saftey factor and to keep the batteries well conditioned. What you don't want to do is charge it at 3A or something stupid like that, you run the risk of puffing, popping, or just shortening the life of the Lipo when charging them hotter than normal. Even If your choices were 1300 vs 1400, it really still would be close enough not to matter, but err on the safe side and go with under vs over. |
Gotcha so just staying @ or close to 1c is the onlything that really matters. Appreciate the info |

BTW, your three-cell packs are 3s (3 cells in Series), not 3c (c is the charge or discharge rate). LiPo packs come in series and parallel combinations, so you'll see things like 3s1p 1500mAH (3 1500mAH cells in series to give an 11.1v pack of 1500mAH capacity) and 3s2p 6000mAH (6 3000mAH cells in a 3x2 series/parallel arrangement to give an 11.1v pack of 6000mAH capacity). The "1p" is usually dropped. |
Solid info as well Clock. |
