Default 4 channel mixing question?

I use a 4 channel on my clod crawler and was wondering if I could wire in some switches to mix two of the channels.

I would like to be able to have both front and rear esc's "act" as though they were on the same channel if I choose to. Or just like a clod using one esc.

Does anyone know how to do this, or could point me in the right direction?

Need a more info from you.

Are you using two ESC's?
What radio are you using?

If you aren't using a nice radio and 2 esc's than most likely your anwser is no.

Yes running 2 ESC's

Futaba skysport 4 (cheap) TX

What does the quality of radio have to do with it?

Because "nice" radios offer programmable channel mixing.

What options do you want?

I'm pretty sure the skysport 4 doesn't have any mixing. Ya may be able to use a novak dig to get it to work.

The Skysport TX has very little adjustments. No EPA's or mixing. All it has is servo reversing and trim adjustments.

I only would want the mixing option on a rare occasion.

I currently drive with my left thumb: up and back is front forward/reverse, and left to right is rear forward/reverse, and I like it this way.

I was just wondering if there was a way I could mix the two (on rare occasions) by adding some sort of switch combo to the pot(s) in the radio.

If all you want to do is have the option of running both ESCs off the same pot (left up&down), try this:

Disconnect the centre wire from the left left&right pot. Connect it to the centre (common) terminal of an SPDT (on-on) switch.
Connect a wire from one of the outside switch terminals to the centre terminal on the left&right pot.
Connect a wire from the other outer switch terminal to the centre terminal of the left up&down pot.

With the switch one way, it will work as it does at present. Flip the switch, and both channels will get the signal from the up&down pot.

I've never tried this, but it's the only way I can think of to do this, short of buying a computerised Tx. I'm not sure if feeding one signal into 2 inputs will cause any problems, so play it safe and keep the wheels off the ground when you switch on for the first time.
I don't think it'll cause any permanent damage, it just might react funny.

this is the reason I went from a pretty decent jr sx600 to a dx6. Check around they can be found pretty cheap sometimes. They have all the mixxing options you'll ever need!
