They are already water proof. Or at least brushless outrunners in my experience have had no issues with water.

A/C motors are waterproof too. Though technically I don't know if our brushless motors are a/c...

i have revolver motors in four of my rigs an mambas with them, i have gotten the motors submerged on water and muddy water and they had no problems, i would reccomend cleaning them after getting them wet though, sensored bl motors definetly don't like water.

Any motor can run underwater, but you must clean them afterwards since the bearings and can are normally steel. Some magnets can rust too.

Current sensored motors don't like water, because of how the sensor board is manufactured. Little debris can get on the board and cause shorts on the hall sensors, the little tiny things they are.

No need to take it apart unless it is crammed full, as there are holes in the revolver bell. Spray it out, and then oil the bearings with some light oil like 3 in 1, or light bearing specific lube.

Yeah as I said before outrunner works great under water. I love that swirling propeller noise.

More like a motorboat gargle.

3 phase DC I think.

3 phase DC since they run from DC supply, but they are 3 phase AC controlled. Either term is right.

So are the current 2014 540s motors waterproof?
What about the Trailmaster, is it's board waterproof?

I kinda figured sensored brushless motors were NOT watertproof since that little sensor board it pretty much exposed. Probably do not like heavy dirt as well.

Both Motors are not waterproof. If you do not feel comfortable waterproofing the motors you can send them to Holmes to be waterproofed or order a bottle of corrosion X use that to waterproof your motor.
