Angry Why doesnt my reverse work to its full potential

I have just bought a brand new xl5 waterproof installed deans on the battery plugs, and have taken motor plugs from a tamiya 27t motor and soldered them on to my 55t trinity and then my 19t venom and still no reverse that can move the truck but forward works just as it use to.

Mostlikley Its in race mode. You need to change the mode. Do you have the manual?

yea i have taken it out of race mod and put it into sport mode and i have tryed 2 different motors and still no reverse that can move the truck but when i pick it up it works the reverse dosent work if it has a load on it do you think i could be that i have a smaller gauge wire on the motor than on the speed control so im losing voltage

What servo are you using? Since it works with no load could it be that the xl5's internal BEC is not enough to power the motor to it's fullest with the draw from the servo?. Just a guess, probably not right cuz it does work in forward.

Maybe try an external BEC.

Check your TX throttle trim. Sounds like it is trimmed forward to far. If it is it will do just what you are saying!

smaller wire would effect both forward and reverse but its a good idea to keep the same gauge wire all the way down, try to delete the motor plugs
and solder them direct maybe that will work if not im stumped maybe a bad esc
