| programming castle sidewinder w/out link for brushed
i did not want to spend the $20 on the link, thinking i could just program it manually. im running brushed and im reading its set to brushless by default. am i going to have to have the link to program it correctly?

it will be easier but you dont "need" it. the instructions should walk you through the steps. programmed mine this way before i got the link.

manual programing starts at p20 http://www.castlecreations.com/suppo...s_ed_guide.pdf the motor needs to be connected to the esc to be able to hear the 'beeps'. i don't know how they do it, but the sounds come from the motor. save your pennies and get the link when you can, life will be much more pleasant with it. |

You dont hear any beeps when you got a brushed motor connected until you get it set to brushed mode. If you want 100% drag brake then you'll need the Castle Link otherwise your stuck with 40% max. |

Out of curiosity, does anybody know how they make a motor beep? I tried a google search, but couldn't find anything.

I have only programmed mine one time. I set the reverse at 100% with and the punch controll I think I set it on off. I hope this helps give you a starting point.
