How many volts will you actually be putting to the servo? Hitec HS-7950TH has 486oz. at 7.4v.

An 8711 has about 400 at 6v, and guessing around 440+ on 8v (Direct 2s)

The MKS HV300 hands all others there a$$. as stated above 533@3s lipo direct. no bec, but for yanks they are more expensive than other countries but are still only 100. Just wish #%&*ing Australia Post wouldn't send my parcels to a town on the other side of the country that has the same name so I could actually use my HV300 I bought for 77 shipped

I have been running the new Futaba S9157 (425 oz-in @ 6V) and have been really impressed.

The MKS sounds okay if you are able to run that much voltage to it. That is the only way to get the speed and torque out of that thing. Once you start dropping volts, the power and speed of the MKS falls way off. The HiTec is stronger and faster at 6v. than the MKS is at 8.4v. I do like the case on the MKS though! I wonder if it will fit the HiTec? Looks like it might.

The whole point is that the servo is rated to run at that voltage and a Hitec is not. If you have a CCBEC and run 3s then let the servo eat!

True dat. Partly why I asked the OP what voltage he's going to run.

I do have a question though loosely related and I hope I'm not wandering off topic too much. I'm no electronics expert but If you run a servo direct from the battery, and the voltage on the battery starts to drop, wouldn't the power of the servo start to drop as well? But if you run a 7.4v servo through a BEC and 3s lipo, the servo would have the same power through out the charge of the battery. Am I understanding this correctly? Thanks!!

Yes, because the servo voltage for all practical purposes will always be 7.4V.

The LVC in your ESC should cut in well before the 3s lipo discharges down to 7.4 volts.

If it doesn't, you've just trashed a lipo, LOL.

I run the High voltage JR 8711. Rated at 480 oz on 7.4 lipo.
A bit pricey, but the metal case is a huge plus. Also a three year warranty.
Does have a plastic gear in there but i have had no problems out of mine yet.
