so the max i can run is 11.1 volts. But on the esc itself is says 15 volt max.

What cells are you using? I'd guess that you are planning to use two six-cell NiMH packs in parallel. Although this will give you a nominal 14.4v, in reality, when fully charged, the voltage will be around 18v. This will drop under load, depending on the quality of the cells and the amp draw. You might get away with it, but I wouldn't risk it. Much better to get some 3s LiPo packs, like TK suggests. |

depends on the motor if your running a 45T or 55T, go for it i run a 45T on 4 cell lipo (14.8V) with 10/87 gearing been running that for 6 months, no problems barely gets off warm, no where near hot |

I've been running a 4-cell on mine for about 9 months with a 55 novak and never had a problem if you were always wide open on the throttle it could mess up but I think just crawling it will be fine, mine is.
