Novak M2 Dig ESC Combo http://www.teamnovak.com/ http://www.teamnovak.com/password/no...terras_225.jpg The M2 Dig ESC Combo (#1845) is one highly programmable, inexpensive package that will revolutionize the crawling industry. This first-of-its-kind, dual-motor compatible speed control – the M2 Dig Dual Brush ESC (#1846) – is combined with two Terra Claw Crawling Brush Motors – 55T (#3556) and independently controls the motors to perform dig maneuvers. In addition to standard digs, the M2 sports independent biasing of the front and rear motors to allow for precise maneuverability through tricky terrain, and exceptional control on steep inclines and downhill descents. Additionally, the M2 Dig ESC can be fine tuned via Novak’s fully adjustable PC interface, the NovaLink™ (#5440). |
I just read the PDF D.L. Sounds like it has some sweet motor mixing in it so you can dial out the clod stall. Super Cool. I'm going to Chicago for the I Hobby Expo in a couple weeks and will be trying to bring one of those bad boys home with me. WOot WOot. |

Also, any more questions from forum members, use this thread as the "Official" M2 Dig comment thread. |
Will it take 3s lipos? When will it be released? What will be the cost W/O motors, W/motors? Does it have and internal BEC, if so what’s the voltage? How big is it? What turn motor will it accept 55t to ??? |
Still only 2 cell. Nice try but ill stick with my Holmes hobbies BR-XL with 2-6 cell capability. Need to do more R&D because who will use dual motors with a 2 cell? Its 3 cell and up man |
how about the novalink? will it work on other esc's (goat) |

I'm guessing it controls front and rear dig on the third/aux channel, But what does "independent biasing of the front and rear motors" mean? How does it work? There was some strange wording on proportional control your dig unit but it really is just a on/off dig switch. Is the same true here? |

I would buy one in a second but its only 2 cell lipo bump up to a 3cell and have a sale. I will stick with my mamba max until you can give the customer what they want.:-( |
From Steve: The M2 Dig has two modes: Mode 1 is a traditional on/off dig where power is removed completely from the rear or front end wheels to effect the handling of the vehicle. There are three states: Full time 4WD, 2WD Front/Rear Dig, 2WD Rear/Front Dig Mode 2 is a pro proportional dig where the amount of power being applied to one end or the other can be changed. You can still achieve full dig on either front or rear axle, but you can get varying degrees of power applied to the front or rear axle depending on the position of the auxiliary knob on the radio. any chance of it surviving 3s lipo with an external BEC like the rooster kinda does? |
Great idea. I have bean anticipating such a device. But it needs to handle 3s. I would have purchased one instantly if were 3s. I will stick with my punk dig for now. I will stay tuned. |
These would have sold like crazy........if you could run it on 3s. :| Come on Novak, get with it. Its almost 2010. ESC's have been able to handle 2s for a long time. If you want to make your big jump into the crawling world, now is the time. "thumbsup" Would be even better if it would handle at least 4s. |
Here's what I'm thinking. Since their website says this, Quote:
No external BEC, no dig switches, a small lipo... Looks good in my head. Light weight. Should be quick enough. I think I'm gonna try it. |

Try it and see. I just remember what it was like when we were running 2s. Just didnt seem to be enough juice to jump up ledges or enough wheel speed. I do think we were running 45 and 55t motors.....I still dont think it will have enough umph. |
