Unhappy Electronics are fried!!! whats the best out there???

hey guys...i just recently got a juggernaut from Ebay...and not surprisingly...it came with some messed up electronics! ive tried what i can do, and since im new to rock crawling and a rookie with electronics, i really havent done alot but swap out recievers and Xtals. i even swapped in a spektrum DX3S DSM system and still nothing...with all the help from friends and the LHS...

my friend came to the conclusion that maybe the speed controller is fried...either way im tired of it and im thinking about just getting all new electronics...so im wondering whats the best out there? ive heard NOVAK Rooster crawler...also Goat crawler...in conjuction with the 55T motor...any input is HIGHLY appreciated!!! thanks again.

-Chris

BTW...this is whats in there:
-Titan 550 motors x2
-FUTABA S3003 high torque servos x2 for AWS
-Tower Hobbies system 3000 Tx and Rx
-EMaxx NOVAK EVX 14.4V Speed Controller model #3014

You'll be pleased with any of the major brands. IE, Castle, Novak, Tekin, or anything else I've forgotten at this hour.

Novak Rooster Crawler will do what you need and Very Simply. It's a very easy to use model, and basically setups and runs. The BEC IN the RoosterCE is 6 volts and 5 amps, and should have no problem running dual servos.

The rest will ALL need an external BEC, and a fair amount of dicking with to get it crawler ready. Either through settings on the ESC, or the use of a computer link do-hicky. Some don't even come with the wires installed.

So if you're as fresh to Electronics as you say, you're first pick of Novak RoosterCE will be a good one. Going with some 45 turns might be a better choice. Most of the crawler world is starting to enjoy the wonders of added wheel speed.

Oh, so you know, all the major brands have awesome technical support, so give their CS Department a call/email with what it's doing wrong and they might be able to assist.

Good Luck!

What appears to be the best esc for crawlers on the market right now. NO EXTERNAL BEC, crawler specific design, and if not now, it will be ajustable with castle software very soon.

Think I heard castle already released the new castle link software with Holmes support.

I wish this esc was out about a month earlier.

If he's running dual motors and a 14.4v esc already wouldn't that be too much for a Rooster Crawler to handle? The Holmes ESC can handle up to 6s lipo input so I'd go with that or maybe even a Novak Super Duty XR (6-14 cell or 2-4s lipo input).

are these essentially brushed-only sidewinders that can handle a lot more voltage and current and also with stronger bec's?

from what i read they used the same case as the sidewinder and contracted castle creations to add the stuff for the castle link, but inside that case is 100% their own design.

also...i just found out this morning that the servos are good! my friend hooked up his SPEKTRUM DX3S DSM radio from his mini revo and i think he used his lipo batt also...and i had to lift it up b/c the 1500 batt wasnt strong enuff...so now i got to find a 14.4v batt, or some kind of power supply to support the ESC to see if the ESC works or not! we came to the conclusion that the RX and TX that came with this truck took a MAJOR shet!!!!! so now i gotta find a TX and RX...and if the esc is bad...well i gotta find that too...wish me luck guys!! dang! i hope its good...

Yes you can use two 7.2v packs, it was made to run off two six cell packs

Did the person give you any clue as to the name of that chassis? I have a friends clod sitting here with that same chassis with canti shock mounts and sway bars...

i was wondering if the mAh (milli Ampere Hour matters???

i was thinking about useing per say for example a VENOM 7.2v 5000mAh (2x) is that ok?? or is the mAh too much for the ESC?? or the mAh doesnt matter...but then again im thinking the mAh has to be MORE than 1500mAh...
