| Novak Goat & BEC
Was wondering if anyone was running a Novak Goat System with a BEC. Asking cause just got an email from Castle Creation say that I can not run 2 BEC at the same time. Even though am only planning on using the CC BEC for my steering servo only. So if anyone is running a this motor system and a CC BEC please let me know thank you. |

was wondering about that cause when the tech guy from CC told I cant run 2 BEC at the same time I think he understood that I had 2 external ones. Here's the way I was thinking of running it, does it look good? Last edited by Mini; 10-21-2009 at 08:45 AM. |

Except you've left off some wires - negative to ESC and ESC to Rx. The BEC wiring is good. That's how I run mine - CC BEC to run steering servos, ESC BEC to run Rx and diff lock servos. |

Just isolate the bEC circuits and you are fine, just as stated above.

Yep, and you don't even need the negative going to the RX from external BEC. The common negative for the signal occurs at the battery and flows through the ESC's RX wire.

I dont mean to jack a thread but i was reading and its got parts of questions answered and some not. You guys are running Castle BECs with novak esc. Do you pull any wires out of the esc plug to the RX?

The important thing when using external BECs is that every device (Rx, ESC, BEC, servo) in your truck needs one, and only one, source of power. That means just one red wire going TO each device. Obviously, the Rx and BEC can have several red wires going FROM them, carrying power to other devices. You also need at least one black wire to each device. Since the black wires are all at the same potential (zero volts), it doesn't matter if you have more than one black wire. In this context, "black" also includes brown wires. | |

| This may be a dumb question. I've tried to read through all the different threads about this and didn't see my answer. Will wiring it this way to power the steering servo only through the CC external BEC still allow the goat's built Lipo cutoff to work properly? I'm guessing it will still do it's job since you're only bypassing the built in for the steering and not the RX, ESC and Dig |

| One Castle BEC will easily do the job. No need for two. Doesn't matter what channel.
