Default 945 vs 5945

I cant make up my mind on which one to get , I'am getting a pair of them of which one I end up choosing. It be going on a maxx based truck. I'am kinda weary of the digital servos I have/had some 1/4 scale digital and didnt really work for me and read about some the different hitech digital servos frying and jason made pretty good point about the digitals, how the motor is working so hard to keep in postion that they overheat and fry. I kinda leaning for the 945's but like the power of the 5945's have..... I do plan on running a rx pack for either servos and I have sr. I dont want to spend the money right now on the high end hitech 59 series.

specs

945
Torque: 122 oz/in @ 4.8V
Torque: 153 oz/in @ 6V

5945

Torque: 152.75 oz/in at 4.8V
Torque: 180.53 oz/in at 6.0V

I've burned up three 5945mg servos in my TXT, in a short time too. I was even running servo savers, but the digitals do get hot trying to hold center.

I've had great luck with the 945mgs, I had one in a Maxx truck for about 4 years with no problems. I'm running one now in my TXT without any issues too.

I've never stripped a gear in any 945 servo, the gears are alot beefier then the 645. I just run one of the plastic servo horns that came with the 945.

I used the AL ones. They actually work well. Not as blingy as you think.
