Default Zip Tie tip

For those of us who use have been scratched by the cut ends of zip ties.

Cut the ends square with about an 1/8" sticking out. Use a lighter to
lightly melt the end, it will round the sharp edges.

You don't have that problem with ducktape.

I've done that too, but some times the locking tooth twists and it doesn't hold any more. (depending on the zip tie)

Thanks for the tip.
I use Flush Cutters from Harbor Freight - dirt cheap, no flame near sensitive areas.

Soldering iron also works. I do alot of custom wiring on wheelin rigs--and its not easy or smart to use a lighter under a dash--soldering iron works too or a micro torch

X2

If you're getting roughed up by a zip tie, you might want to get the balerina slippers back out of the closet...

Depends on the size of the zip tie. Little ones = scratch, bigger ones blood squirts everywhere.

I use RC airplane foam wire holders They stick where you want them to and the wires just pop in them! No need to mess with zip ties at all with them
