Default Why is my Hobbico CS-170 so noisey?!?!?

So i picked one of these up yesterday from the local rc shop cuz they said its a bang for the buck.. and so torques nice and strong like supposed to but this thing sounds like its gunna blowup lol, any reason why its so loud??
i guess im conserned because i hear that the more servo noise during use the less overall runtime in the longrun? i dont have epa im running the dx5e, CC BEC with 4 houres of use. i just dont want to fry my new servo.
P.s. how often should i check my bec's voltage?

All digital servos make noise. It seem the C-170 is just a little louder then most. There is nothing wrong with it .

It depends with your EPA most likely yea you are going to want it unless your servo isn't binding up at full throw(where you steering maxs out)
and with digital servos they run at a differnt frequensy or somethig like that
I'm on my phone but I can get you more info later but it seems lime you may want to invest in a radio with more tuneabiltiy

I have the same servo and it to is noisy. I have the KO Propo 5ur radio and it requires digital servos.. I thought for sure that something was wrong with the servo, but it's held up just fine.. I'm running a CC BEC set at 6volts to it and it works great..

i noticed with this servo it makes noise turnd all the way to either side untill you pick the front end up and it doesnt make noise, is it just the resistance triggering the crazy sound inside the servo?
i hear that "these servos take a beeting and last for a long time too"
i just dont wana drop another penny on a servo for a while.

He got it. It's totally normal. I've had the same servo for almost a year and it has never failed... but it buzzes like a mad hornet.

If thats true, the only cure for a hitec servo is a big shot of JR8711. Otherwise just get used to the fact your servo sounds like you bought it from Harbor Freight.

So what are other high torque digital servos that are significantly quieter than my CS-170? I'm willing to pay an extra $20-30 if it gets me a quiet servo!

How much quieter is the JR 8711?

im thinkin of getting one of these..
Its a rock crawler does it really bother you that much that its that noisy?
It will do the job perfeclty fine for most aplications..
I herd the CS-170 will take a good beating to.

you are close, its a copy of the 5955tg, which according to the ratings is the same as the 7955tg but is actually lower. its common with digital servos though to have some noise but my ts-170 (towerhobbies badged cs-170) is louder than my 7955tg
