The infrared port into streaming data would be easy. Figuring out the protocall that the printer uses may be the tough challenge, otherwise the data is just a stream of crap.

I know the protocol type......

I found a sample software that might work at taking the data in to.....also found a IR reciever that plugged into USB....

It just got to the point I felt the benefits of it was pointless and would rather just make my own dyno....while the turbodyno is the best out there, it still has flaws....

Thats my train of thought too. If you are doing the work, might as well do it right and make your own.

Got a goody or two in the mail today! Should kill some idle time. Thanks to EddieO for hooking me up...

This is not my pic. Eddie took it a while back. An elusive Trinity portable magnet zapper!

While I am trying to find an exact number, so far I am told there is less than 20 of the Portable Zapper by trinity in the world. There is a few that were made by other companies, as I believe Mike Reedy had a custom one....I know a guy in Europe had one custom made also, along with one in Japan that the Yokomo guys had....

They are very rare....costing over $2000.

Trinity actually had to sell me their personal unit and use their older one, which looked identical but was bigger in size.....Chad Phillips hated me cause he had to lug around the big ass thing for a a while until they got a new smaller one in.....I dunno if they ever did.

Really though, if I saw it before I bought it more closely, I could of just made one myself for a few hundred bucks.....its just a few machined parts and a couple of big neo magnets....reminds of me of my comm welder.....over $1500 new.....could of built it for less than $500 easy.

They were fun to take to the Airport. I refused to send it through checked baggage, so I would always carry it on......first time no problems. Second time though, bad news...."What is it" "It's a magnet zapper".....please wait for security sir.....mental note. Its a magnet recharge device for toy car motors.....never had an issue after that.....well except the poor guy who had the TSA agent stick his laptop right on top of it....all data went bye bye...

They are not all the same....

There was a 30 amp model and a 45 amp model. The original cases were gray or light puke tan....

Pretty much all of my units I had got sent back to CE and upgrade to 45 amp models (most already were), new cases and wiring, along with the updated panel graphics and backlight.

Changing that front graphic is actually really easy, so you can make it say anything ya want if you map out the buttons and stuff.

Do be careful with the wiring should you decide to replace it. Keep it the same lengths and gauges. Jim Bailey (one of the top guys at CE) has told me changinging the wires can cause the readings to be off....Big Jim told me the same thing. We tried it once, by reducing the length of the slave motor wires just an inch....dyno was reading like 3 watts lower than it had been.....

Been playing around with some winds lately. Here is a 11t Double Crawlmaster. Works great for a scaler on 3s, maybe a touch hot for some people. I can't feel a difference in the punch between a single, I think the gearing and smaller batteries hide the punch differences. Also swapped over to brazing since this motor may get really hot after long trail runs. On 3s it won't crack 32,000rpm so I didn't bother reinforcing the com. After a few hours it is still running solid, so far so good.

12% better fill with the double, although I haven't really tried packing the 11t single with a 1/2 ga fatter yet.

Maybe on a heavier or lower rig I would feel a difference in the punch. I would feel it for sure on a LCC Right now it just wheelies or breaks all the tires loose.

Do you even know where your radio is? Let alone remember where the power switch is on it?

Sad when EddieO crawls more than you do....

Goldendale next weekend!
