Yeah, I have a hudy with the worn bearings......going to order the V-blocks when I get a little extra cash. I like it because it will cut the puller comms.

You can get most of them for around $50 now that brushless has taken over the onroad racing. I did pay $100 for my Hudy but should have waited a little bit for the price to come down.

Well, I am about half way through reading Big Jim's RC Motor Black Book. I was getting a little bored with it at first because it was going through all the basics. Its starting to get really good though. Learning some stuff that I didn't know, and a lot of important stuff that I had actually forgotten about.

If you don't have one of these books, I highly suggest you pick on up if you are serious about taking care of and getting the most out of your motors.

After just the first half of the book, I am curious as to what I can do even with a Integy motor now that I know what causes the loss of torque in most of them. They will spin up OK (RPM) but not much torque.

When I get some time at home...........Its on with the dyno and lathe.

And I CANNOT believe I forgot about this........

Most of the current runs through the brush hoods, not the shunts. The shunts them selves are only rated at 10 amps.

Back to reading.

That's why you need clean brush hoods and brushes.

Yep.

I think I am going to tear down my motors after ECC and go through them completely. Run them on the dyno and find the sweet spots.

They are hard to find, saw one go for $130 a couple of weeks ago. Also the OG tools are hard to find. I did manage to find one of Jims Sonic Fiddle sticks and a set of his hood alignment tools, after many hours of surfing. Also looking for some of the Parma Comm cleaning sticks, no luck on those

Nif-tech and Muchmore Racing has some cheaper versions.

Anyone looking in ever try these. Found them on the Bay for a buck per set. Picked up 14 sets. The OG listed for 12-14 bucks at one time. I'm not really familiar with them.

You are correct. More silver makes brushes wear faster.

You have email btw.
