We had a local guy baking his cans to get the magnets out. He was advancing the timing in them.

Funny part though was he couldn't understand why his magnets never lasted.

He must have gone through a dozen new motors (stockers) before we told him why.

Well, you name it, we tried it...the best Fbrush ritual we had was to soak them for a week, then put them in a cookie sheet filled with tribo......then bake....seemed to work well. We just soaked lots of them, seemed to work on lots of them like 767 or 4499.

While 150 degrees may not be enough, all it takes is a spark for fumes....

He wasn't doing it right then.....old trick, but became pointless once trinity squared the cans.

Since we're talking about brushes, I thought this was cool. It's Big Jim's take on various brushes

Yeah, I never quite agreed with that chart.......how is the 4383 above the 4499, when its the same compound?

Jim was quirky with some stuff, depending who he was pissed off at the moment and/or writing his check.

He lists 729 and 766 together...same compound, just laydown and standup... Same with 767 and 728...

If its bad info I can take it down. It's really hard to decipher what Big Jim posted that was based of experience or who was paying him.

Yeah, he got into it with Rick from Peak/Orion when the V2 was coming out. I can't remember if he ever posted his v2 testing results, but they were all good.....

He hated Trinity for a long time.....until Ernie started paying him to consult again.

He always regretted selling the Checkpoint name to them instead of me. He originally agreed to sell it to me along with the rights to the old motor, but at the last moment, O'odonnell stepped in and offered a decent sum for the name. I didn't really care about the name at the time, just the motor....so I let him sell it. He then made them public enemy #1 for a while....

Long and the short of it....if Jim used it, it was more than likely a good product.....if he slammed on it, take it with a grain of salt, especially if it was a trinity, orion/peak product, or Checkpoint.

Bored and working with the new picture guy for the new website...sent me over these pics. I dunno if I will use this view, as I don't think it quite shows the differences well enough on some arms....but still, pretty cool quick reference...

Still some arms missing too, but I guess this is like motor porn for some people.

While I don't mind use for personal stuff, please don't use for commercial websites.

Of course I got some! PM me...

I am changing the way the types work on the new site.........ditching comms as a type completely, though different comms will be available as an option on some arms. I find myself constantly explaining the differences in comms, which is very minor.....plus the ability to actually sell the standard 4mm and 5mm blanks as a type on their own....

do we have to wait for the new site to come on line to find out what each of those arms are? I have some guesses but...

Nah, if you put your mouse over them, the photobucket link tells you the image name......they are all current arms pretty much, with only the XLR and GR not techincally released to the public, but they are close.

The T(5mm) and R(4mm) are new technically as, the names were previously a way to tell comm size. The R/T name is going to be retired for now.....ST and SR are just the S renamed to note the different 4mm and 5mm blanks in skew.

Yes, 2012 LE hits the site in 2 weeks or less. Just need to balance and assemble.

Slotted 35t Epoxy balanced 2 magnet can, VPI epoxy process.......pretty nifty...will even be the first LE with the Limited Edition sticker........(no ted, yours don't count).
