Default ESC Limits vs Motor... question...

OK, this seems like a newbie thing... But since I've never messed with anything less that the recomended limits on an ESC, I figured I'd ask what other have experienced or what your opinions are on it.
"It" being... Most ESC's have a "motor limit." For example, I'm building a 4wd buggy for my girlfriend, and I have a spare Duratrax ESC with a listed 18turn motor limit. I'm thinking of useing one of my extra 15turn, 17turn, or a 19turn's. Now I know that the 19t is ok, per the specs... I'd like to think that the 17t would be ok... And i'm thinking the 15t would be pushing it.

What do you guys think about it?

Thanks for any help/thoughts.

PS: I would normally just purchase a different ESC, but I'm trying to keep this "low budget" and use existing equipment. (so far it's about $110 for a fully running kit.)

(Mods, I meant to put this in chit-chat. But I guess it kinda works in Electronics, though not too crawler specific.)

I'd run the 19 in it.

No sense in putting a 15 turn in for the G/F to drive.

1. Too much motor for her if she's a newbie to RC (especially in a 4WD buggy)

2. You'll smoke the ESC.

Personally, if she's never messed with RC before, slap a 27 turn in it and call it done.

I would say go 19 and when (and she will) she wants to go faster try the 17 if you don't care to save the esc and just
upgrade to a new esc hobbywing make some nice
cheap systems you can go brushless for around 70 u.s. check out hobbyparts.com or DollarHobbyz.com for cheap, name brand.

Depends on your settings in the "User CP" (link at the page's header).
