Default is my ni-mh pack fried?

i went to charge my venom 3600 nimh but i checked its voltage n it was 5.3 volts. i charged it at 2.5 amps to be safe. it pulled 8.5 volts during charging that took 14 minutes...now the battery shows 8.5volts....is it still good?

Hi i'm a newbie when it comes to RC crawling. I'm currently buying parts for my first WRAITH build and in search for a lipo batt that will match my specs with a Tekin 13.5T Redline motor, Mamba max pro smart sense esc, and a CC 10A BEC. Anybody could help me with my build will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
