if you dont already have a charger etc, id look for a lipo set up, rhino lipos are cheap and they are a great battery for the price, and you can pick up a lipo charger for about 50 off e-bay..

just athought..

but as far as nimh packs, im not sure how much voltage the summit esc can handle, but get as much voltage and MAH as you can find / afford as far as brand, sorry cant help ya there, im not sure who the big players in NIMH cells are these days, its slowly becoming obsolete

This is what I used in my Summit before going Lipo,

http://www.promatchracing.com/proddetail.php?prod=7475&PHPSESSID=2d8b858e5b3c6a2bcf608759934a109d

And I still use them when I go under water.

They have great power and good run time. I don't exactly how many cycle I have in them but I had them for over a year now and they are still working great.

I have been using the Traxxas Power Cells, Series 4, when I charge them I get up to 4500 mah into them.

They are real good packs so far! Not to badly priced and pack a good punch.
