It's toast. You can either buy a new one, or buy a new rotor from Tekin and replace it. It melted the clear coating off the windings on the rotor and caused a short.

Let me guess you have a Losi Night Crawler...?

Well I didn't see where you can buy replacement rotors so you'll just have to get a new one. I would suggest getting a 35t motor, little more wheelspeed and more fun...

Also I'd take that motor out of your truck and spin the wheels (by hand) and see if there is any binding, it should be smooth. Normally motor don't just about catch fire, unless you have major bindage or own a Losi Night Crawler.

"Smoke the creeper" would be more appropriate for him
definitely check for binding though. Only time I've had that happen was when a bearing seized on my rally. It got so hot the motor came unsoldered and the label on the can actually did catch fire.

Default Sounds like a new shirt

Dont bum out CodyDray. We are not making fun of you. Crap happens to everyone. Good luck with getting your creeper going. Are you looking at the new Axial XR-10?

Default Why a LNC

Why would a LNC be more apt to have this problem of a smoked motor over any other crawler.

I didnt want to start a thread, this one looked appropriate enough.

I may have asked this before,if so I dont remember the answere.
running wide open the brushes deffinatly put off some spark.
but when you are at full throttle or close to it,and then let off the spark is huge as the brake takes hold.

so I'm guessing this is probably harder on the comm. than we may realize.

It's cause when you let off, no power is going into the motor, but its still spinning, so it begins in theory to act as a generator....so power kinda flows back, hence the spiffy sparks you see....

That's why in a lot of racing, they try to never let off all the way or use the brakes, cause it would toast the comm...
