Default Compatability

does this charger (DuraTrax Onyx 100 AC/DC Peak Charger NiCd NiMH) Work with this battery (Venom 6-Cell 7.2V 3600mAh NiMH Stick Standard Plug)?

It looks to me like it should I just wanted to make sure before I bought them.

yes it will however if you can afford it id recommend going with a little better changer, the 210 provides a little more flexibility but the 220 is the way id go for a budget charger. its far more adjustable and provides capabilities to do more than just a typical stick pack. of coarse if you see yourself going with lipo in the future (most people with crawlers do end up this way) you have 2 choices, save up and get a more expensive charger now, or get a cheap charger now and buy a 2nd charger later.

So I went with the Onyx 220 charger and it said to set the capacity to 110-130 % of battery rating capacity. I did. I set it to 5.0v outout because it was supposed to me the Capacity rating divided by 1000. I also had the trikle set at 250mah and the timer set at 72 minutes. My battery did charge up to about 4432 and then my charger said complete and I went to unplug my battery and it was very hot to the touch. I could still hold it in my hand but hot none the less. Is there a setting that I need to change on my charger?

Any help would be nice? I searched and couldn't find it. I am kind of illiterate when it comes to searches though

I would turn the voltage down a little . It is normal for Nimh to get hot on a charge but the battery will last longer if you charge it a little slower . Stick to 3.6 or so volts unless you dont mind replacing batteries more often or happen to need a quick charge .

alright thanks I will definitely try that. It only took an hour or so to charge how I had it so I don't mind waiting a little longer
