Default motor/esc for SCX10

Hey everyone.

Putting together my first scaler build and had a few questions about electronics. I'm a nitro guy so alot of this is new to me. I'm getting the kit version so i was thinking of the Tekin FXR esc/35T handwound combo. Would this work well in a Honcho chassis? I plan on adding the Summit 2-speed as well.

Also I'm planning on using an old MX-3 tx and an extra Hitec Rx I have laying around. Any problems with this?

Thanks a bunch.

Best combo I have ever bought. Don't think I have a need for anything else so far. Have fun with your new build.

The fxr combos are great bang for the buck and work great! If ya plan on any water running the hh torquemaster can be had waterproof, will run 6s lipo, and has a better bec. I would recommend a ccbec with a fxr. I really like the summit 2 speed idea! Ya might think about a sensored brushless set up for some real speed/power too!

I am very happy with the Tekin FX-R/35t (machine wound). I imagine that the handwound version is even better.

I have a Tekin 45T motor/FXR combo in my SCX10 and I love it. Great power, great torque, great reliability, and an awsome drag brake.

Thanks for the replies guys. Glad I picked a good one and didn't get the "Tekin? pshh. What a rube!" responses. Got one ordered.
