How can I make a Lipo battery waterproof?

I use ballon to waterproof the lipo, just put the lipo in, and then sealed with cable ties..

The Best way to water proof is to take apart your esc and servo/recivier so that the circuit board is out. Then take Liquid Electrical tape and Coat all of the electronics with it. Here is a video of someone doing it.

Doersn't void any warranties and you don't get messy crud all over.

Dielectric grease on the battery connector is way better than electric tape.
The servo cases are allready water proof. It's where the out put gear is that the water gets in.

Just wondernig...shouldn't you shield the motor from mud and "solid" gunk? Regular water, maybe not. But what about mud that has solid bits in it? It would affect cooling though...

I waterproof all my scale running rigs with ballon.

All of my rigs running Tamiya TEU101BK ESC, no overheating issues at all.
In fact, they not even get warm in my rigs..

Just use ballons with clear sillicone in the end of the ballon, make sure that you rub the sillicone around the wires so it 100% water tight.
Use a small zip tie at the end and a second one a 1/2" apart from the first one, with a ring of sillicon between them, that makes the esc or rx 120% waterproof...

I only use cheap servos so I don't bother waterproof the at all...
My XC Pajero uses a Hitec 645MG and it has been driving 10" under water several times, and I have opend it up a few times to check for water and I have only found 1 or two drops of water inside the servo so I do not see the need to waterproof that one...
In fact that is my longest lived servo to date, all other servos are crap in comparision....

My friend has a Hitec digital servo that the previous owner has greased all up to make it waterproof, but it is slooooooooooow...

Screw liquid tape it is semi permanent and messy. Corrosion X is the only thing I ever use and it works great. "thumbsup"

I was looking at this post and have found many people asking what type of dielectric Silicone to use. I work in the Oil & Gas Industry, with electronic equipment. The best solution is dielectric Silicone, because of its easy use and easy cleanup. If for any reason you need to get back in to your servo all you need is contact cleaner and paper towels. The brand we use and I recommend is Dow Corning 4 Electrical Insulating Compound.
