Now that Im home and not using my phone to update... The biggest advantage this motor has over whats out there... I couldnt tell I was driving a brushless. What I mean by that, it is butter smooth driving yet has killer drag brake when you want it. The motor I was able to use was on 2s and had as much speed and power as motors I have driven on 3s. Also, the way the motor is built, you get power from the very touch of the trigger. All of the other brushless motors I have tested dont start really wanting to move until 1/8th trigger pull. I'm a guy that for the last 5 yrs has been running the low end Integy Lathe motors because they are cheap and work. Ive been resisting the switch to brushless in my crawlers because either they cog like hell or the drag brake is missing, I would be willing to spend the money to convert my trucks with this motor. In my opinion it will be the best motor on the market. In case you guys didnt know, the owners of Tekin are crawlers. They are building this motor for use in their trucks too, not to make a fortune on. (I am not getting 1 cent or any sponsorship for this reveiw in case people thought otherwise) |

I can assure you guys this is leaps and bounds above a standard 1/10 brushless system. This motor is 4 pole 12 slot, not 2 pole 3 slot like 1/10 motors are designed for ROAR. This motor will flat out break your drivetrain with the torque, has 3S wheelspeed on a 2S and crawls butter smooth like a 55T. It is the best of both worlds. I'm not releasing any specs on them as the kVs are not set in stone and these are prototypes. With the reaction we got at iHobby, I think we will be moving forward on these quicker than initially planned. You guys can thank me for telling Jim we HAD to let the word out at iHobby! These motors really do rock. |

After Ty broke his truck on the course Saturday (After fixing the trans he had just broke), I was given the privilage of putting the motor and a RS in my sportsman truck... I took 3rd in the comp which to me was a win, considering I had 0 practice or tuning with the setup. Im pretty sure we have some pictures and video of it in action. I was able to crawl at a speed where the wheels were just barely turning and then squeeze the trigger and litterally get the truck airborne. Ty could clarrify but I believe I drove a 2050kv version and I was running on a 850mah 3s. After the comp I think about 15 different guys drove the truck and the only complaint I heard was saying that they wanted it but cant buy it yet. My only complaint was that they didnt let me keep it. THANKS again for Tekin letting me test drive this motor. |

I looked at what I had written down, I tested an 1800kv version... Talking to Jim and Ty, they still arent set on what kv's they will run. I think they had 4 different versions at the booth.

| Looks like this one never got answered. No, because Novak has to put a sticker on the can that says crawler or it won't work ( there's a resistor also, but it does nothing but tell the ESC the sticker is there, at the loss of overheat control) Looking foward to testing the drag on these as that's the only issue I have with Sensored brushless. Did it have drag on part throttle downhills or did it freewheel? |
