Beginning to think this as well, found another thread someone has this as well but oddly it just went away on its own.
No ordering here BRuce at country took care of it. Just like to pinpoint which is causing this, motor or esc..

On a side note, dropped the 3100kv into my Slash 4x4 while rebuilding the Wraith. It was like a whole new truck. Gobs of torque on 2S, and good top end too. Not sure if Tekin recommends this application, but it's a great fit. Debating on one for the Exo too.

I have a buddy that ran a ROC 3100 in his exo. It was smooth and flew like a bird off the big jumps.

Hmm, don't sound right but hard to say what it could be.

I would start with the obvious and double check your gear mesh.

Definitely check your gear mesh, it sounds really tight. The ROC should not sound like that.

1. Check gear mesh and re-test. Good? Yes/no if yes, done, if no go to step two.

2. Check sensor wire at both ends for frays, bent pins, full connection etc. re-test. Good? Yes/No. If Yes, DONE, if no go to step three.

3. Check esc, programming etc. Also, if not using a Tekin ESC and software, you could get some funny sounds and glitching, just putting that out there. After checking/updating ESC, re-test. good, Yes/No. If yes, done, if no call Tekin.

My bet is on the gear mesh though.

That is definitely not right.

I've got the same set up, MMP & 3100kv ROC even with 3.5:1 gearing it crawls smooth.

PaloAltoK5 pretty much covered all the bases as what to look for.

The ONLY time mine ran like that was when I didn't have the sensor wire plugged in all the way.

the sort of "chime" sound means that your sensor wire is not plugged in... even if you think it's plugged in, it's not.

Yeah, that car is not running with sensors in operation. That is the "sound" of the rotor being "held" up by cog torque and the esc not driving it well. Your gear mesh or drivetrain may also be too tight on top of it all.
