I read the link about some 4PL's needing to be sent in for updating. Should most of the 4PL's form the larger dealers (eg. Tower Hobbies) be current? I was planning on buying one in the next 2-3 weeks, but I do not want to have to buy one only to have to send it in for an update. |

They were "out of stock" for a while in major retailers due to the update change. I believe you are good now. If you buy from a LHS (local hobby shop) you may get an older one. But, the update process is reasonably quick & FREE!!

This is found in the Model RX Section, you have FH or SFH to choose from. Once you make the selection, turn your radio off then back on to confirm the change. edit: dam Harley is fast...

asw27x has tried a different battery as well for the original RX. It was fine the other day but now appears dead. I haven't really looked at things yet, but it was working one day and appears dead the next. I don't believe he did any work on the rig in between uses.

| "DOHhhhhh" moment....
No slight on the issue. asw27x went with a new CC SCT Sidewinder recently. The spur gear "ate" the "-" wire from the ESC harness, thus no power to the RX. It's being fixed as I type. I guess "old farts" with reading glasses are good for something (other than money when needed and driving to comps/GTG's)....... |

| So, I got my 4PL today and bound my receivers to it, set up 3 different models, adjusted all buttons for what I wanted them to do, drove my Range Rover, and now I'm going to bed...... So freakin' easy a caveman can do it! Thanks for the videos and info Harley, it was very helpful. Badass radio, I would and will recommend it to anyone. |
