Default Servo transplant

Would it be possible, to take the electronic board from one servo, and use it in another? I have a blewbird servo that has fried electronics, and a standard servo that has good electronics. Could I swap good for bad on these? Or would the current draw from the blewbird be too much for the standard torque servo's board? I want to use it for a winch.

I really don't see how it would hurt it. It would be like the same as just plugging in a different servo, wouldn't it. But you're just using a different case. If that makes sense.

if you are just using it for a winch, you should be fine. Even if the board wont keep up with the blewbird motor, it wont hurt anything to try at this point!

ILRCRC, if you dont know what the fudge your talking about, dont try and give any advice.

The bigger motor in the blewbird might be too "hot" for the control board off the lower torque servo. It's like running a 9 turn motor on an esc thats only rated for 17 turns. It could overload it.

I'm not using a different case. Same case, same gears, just the electronics from a different servo.

True, I got nothing to loose, except for a crappy little servo that sits in the bottom of the box. I'd never use it anyways.

why go through the trouble if you have a servo sitting there? the bluebird has a bigger case and takes up more room. Just seems easier to use the other servo, unless that servo has crap gears?

Yea its just a crappy little 50 oz/in servo.

I have a JR servo with 85 oz/in. I might give that a shot.

well, you done seen what a crappy traxxas 2055 80oz servo can do

I say the JR servo will be good enough for what your planning on
