Default Dual lipos in series, my plan, comments?

I've bought some 1050 mAh 40c 3s batteries I'm going to use in my MOA Losi with HH 14T pullers.
After playing around with a pair of 430 mAh lipos, it was obvious that the wiring is a rat's nest once you add in the Y harness. I was going to cut the lipos wires back and solder them in series but I'm not sure how I would balance them when charging.
My thoughts now are to sandwich the lipos power leads in between them and tape the batteries together. That would leave about 1/2" of wire, then the plugs on one side. The Y will give me the length I need to hook up the esc.
This way, when it comes time to charge, I have access to each lipo's balance tap and lead, so I can charge them individually.

Seems simple enough, but anyone got a better idea or a tip?

A couple things.

Are you running these in series or parallel? Because series makes the voltage go up, and the Mah stays the same. Parallel will double the mah, but voltage stays the same. Not many people run 6S, so that's why I ask. That and alot of people get series parallel mixed up.

In any case, what you're trying to do is not ideal. There is no way around a y harness. Unless they were built in the manner you want, then you will be alot better off running a y harness, or buying a 6S pack.

If you're trying to saddle them, then I could make you what you need. Presuming your charger can do that many cells

I do plan to run them in series for 6s.
I do plan to run them with the Y harness, mebbe I didn't make that clear, sorry.

Plan A got scrapped but here it is: Cut one red and one black lead from each lipo shorter, solder together, attach other red and black to plug. But then I'd be left with 2 3s balance taps, this is what killed Plan A.

Plan B is to sandwich the power leads from each lipo between the two batteries and tape it all together. This is done purely to minimize the mess. I'll then plug the Y harness into the the 2 battery leads and attach it the esc.

I don't have room on my axle for saddle packs, this is going in the belly of a BJV3.

I got fully that you said. But if you're planning on just smashing the 2 wires together to make a connection, then that will not work right. It will be a source of resistance. Then you will experience poor power, and possibly intermittent connections. If anything, a set of small bullet connectors would be better. That way you can un-plug them for charging, then plug them back in to run. You would just have to make some charge adapters.

No man, not sandwiching any bare wires either. Just tucking the leads between the batteries to get rid of the extra wire length.
