how to remove servo wire pins I am adding a BEC and should I cut servo wires from plug or can i release the pins? |
The only wire you should be removing is the red one from your ESC to the RX. Use a paper clip and poke the flat spot that is visible on the connector and pull on the wire to release it. |

I find using a #11 blade to lift the little plastic flap on the block up and out of the way while pulling the wire and socket out works well. That being said if you are shortening up servo wires etc, best to shorten the wire at the end where it connects to the device's printed circuit board. Either that or shorten the wire & crimp a new socket contact on. Soldering these contacts on runs the risk of solder wicking up inside the insulation. This leaves you with a failure prone joint.....
