| Glitchy FXR
I've got an FXR I bought back in '08 that has never worked properly, the throttle/break stutters, steering is really twitchy or non existent at times. I've got this installed with a Castle BEC set to 6v, I have tried it without with the same results though. I've got a Traxxas TQ3 installed, I've tried a few different receivers and transmitters as well as a Spektrum DX3r and so far nothing works. Is my esc junk or is there something I'm over looking? |

Try updating your firmware, there used to be some glitching at startup that was resolved with an update. Now if you have your CC BEC setup there would be no reason that your steering would glitch because of the FXR, sounds like that is coming from somewhere else. When you have the BEC hooked up is the red wire from the FXR disconnected? I have found that running the BEC directly to the servo is way better...I would let the FXR power the receiver (Red wire plugged in) and let the BEC feed the servo directly. If you search you should find a diagram on here, basically just pull the signal wire out of the servo's plug and run it to the receiver directly. Then put a female servo plug on the end of the bec and plug the servo's plug into that to power it. Hope that helps. |

Like the ubove post stated, you need to unplug the red wire from the ESC if using the BEC and it may be that the servo you are using is taking too much juice. ( are you using 3s or 2s lipo or Nihm?) AS suggested, I'd get a firmware update using the Hotwire. You might fine someone who has one to do it for you. The FXR is Solid as far perfomance goes. At the very least, you could send it in for the updates. |

I do have my BEC wired into the ESC so I'll pull that off and try it out. Thank you.

I was using Nihm, my servo is a HS 5955tg. I don't have a hotwire so hopefully wiring the BEC direct will do the trick lol. EDIT: I forgot to mention that my servo crapped out and was sent in on warranty, so those glitches were maybe attributed to that. Last edited by EvilPlots; 12-21-2010 at 04:42 PM. | |

That may be the issue. I always wire the BECstrait to the servo for direct power. There are some good wiring diagrams on the sticky's to follow or use the search function and find a few threads that might suit your tastes. Good luck.

I rewired and tried it today, the steering issues must have been due to the faulty servo, the stuttering is still there though. I think I'll send it in and switch to something that can handle 4s. Thanks for the help guys. |
