Searched a couple different ways and came up with nothing. I'm wondering what is the max safe voltage I can push through a Sidewinder and stock Axial 55T motor? I have the steering servo and RX run on off a CC BEC set for 6V. I'm running a 7.2 NiMh now, just wondering if I can go bigger, and if so how much? |

I've seen folks run 4S lipo with that combo and have no problems. However, Castle recommends no more than 3S (12.6V) max....

On thier site they recommend 3s, but cutoff is there for 4s and with a single 55t itll do it no problem. Also voltage is listed as 14 which is almost the full 4s, a pretty good buffer over 3s.

| 14v is close to a 4s lipo at nominal voltage but ully charged it will be at 16.8v which is above what castle rates them at but i see no reason it wouldnt be fine since chris from CBP is running 4s on his mamba micro pros which have the same voltage limit and he is running i believe a 35 or 45t motor which draws more current then your 55t

My theory is if they wouldn't take it cutoff would have never been added for it, I know mine never get warm on 3s with single motors and my XR sidewinders are gonna see 4s real soon.
