Default TorqueMaster ESC 1.08 firmware released

Castle just released their newest Castle Link, which includes my latest firmware for the TorqueMaster BR-XL esc. We have improved low speed control on low voltage greatly, and added throttle dampening features for people running worm gears or for rigs that may need smoother throttle delivery to prevent parts breakage.

Any other suggestions for future additions to firmware? We have some really good ideas for further development, but they are big changes and will take some serious programming time.

Need low speed control?

Sweet! Is the throttle dampening to replace throttle expo?

No, we still have that. You probably won't need expo with the updated throttle profile, it made a huge difference in the bottom end feel. We may be able to smooth out the bottom end even more, if a rig or motor type needs it.

Is this just suggestions for your firmware? Cause I'd love to see min. drive % added to the MMP.

Yes, just for my firmware. Can you explain minimum drive %?

Yeah...that's what I meant, not eliminating Expo, just as another option to use in place of Expo.

Thanks!

It is like mushy throttle, it makes the ramp up or down slower.

Here is a vid that shows how much the low speed control has improved with the new firmware. Notice the difference between minimum speed and top speed! Running a slower motor or a lower voltage will decrease the minimum drive speed even further, with a linear relationship to the voltage change. The only real limiting factor is the motor construction, as some motors will spin slower than others on startup.

Ok so i'm programming my esc right now, i kinda forgot awhile about this..because of winter but now i'm ready

So on a losi moa running 35ts, what should i set these throttle rates out to get better low end control/ slower control

I am putting 100% throttle up for now and leave down alone....hopefully get some testing in this weekend

I have been very satisfied with the stock programming, with changes to the drag amount to suit the rig weight and terrain. The throttle up damping will make the throttle mushy.

Download the latest version of Castle link from Castle Creations website.
