Default esc waterproofing

Disclaimer: Im pretty sure this will void any and all warrentee's so only do this if you are positive you need waterproof.
step 1: Build a form. I chose to mimic the size of the sidewinder case as I was using a sidewinder. Keep in mind that if you dont use a mold release, your form is a 1 shot deal.

step 2: find an appropriate epoxy. I used a 2 part that can be purchased at homedepot. Use a long setting epoxy as the heat up far less and are less likely to damage the electronics.

Step 3: Remove the stock case

Step 4: Mix the epoxy as per directions, pour some in the bottom of the mold

Step 5 insert the esc. Then finish filling until all of the electronics are covered.

Step 6: Secure your esc in the epoxy so that it cannot move. It will need to sit like this for 8hrs or more.

Step 7: Remove the form from the epoxy. If you used mold release it should easily slide out. If not... Good luck. I chose to not use mold release so that I had a nice flat styrene bottom.

cant see the last two pix???

Do you leave the top part of the heatsink out of the epoxy so the heat can leave the esc?

Ill try to fix the last couple pics... you leave the heat sink out, just enough epoxy to cover the board. Ive ran them like this for a couple years without any issue.
