Default Sidewinder help

Ok, I need help. After setting up my new Sidewinder I can't seem to get anything more than about 1/3 power in reverse. I have gone over my settings about 15 times now and nothing is helping. I've tried to re-calibrate it to my radio and that doesn't seem to change either. What am I doing wrong? For what it's worth, this isn't my first Sidewinder, I've got them in two other rigs but am at a complete loss with this. Help!!

I may be way off, but on your transmitter, do you have your trim set correctly for throttle?

What version of software are you using? have you recently updated. Anything past I think 1.24 and you get the crawler reverse which as you found is lame.

Mate,

Are you using the castlelink or just the TX to calibrate?
Castlelink should option you up to 100% reverse?

Thanks for the responses. The trim and epa settings are both ok and reverse is set at 100%. I'll try going to an earlier version of software and see what that does. The lights on the esc show everything doing what it should with the red coming on when reversing but no movement until 1/3 to 1/2 throttle.

Is your motor timing set to 0?

Timing is set to 0. I just changed to an older version(121) and still no change. I tried to re-calibrate my transmitter to the esc and I don't think its working. When moving to reverse it just continues to flash red repeatedly.

I reversed the throttle and re-calibrated and it seems to work. I had to reverse the motor wires and now red light on the esc is forward but it seems to work ok.

When you had it the other way, would the ESC light up solid red at any point?

It would light up solid red when put in reverse, yellow at idle and green in forward. I'd move throttle to reverse and the light would go red right away but no movement until 1/3 to 1/2 throttle.

Sounds like your throttle dead band is to big. Run your trim so it's sensetive to reverse and 1/3 throttle for forward. If the problem moves to the front (and it should) you need to change the nuetral dead band on the esc to a smaller value.
