Default Newb ESC problem

i have a sidewinder brushless esc and i am trying to hook it up to an integy 35t motor. when i hook it up as reverse brushed motor it wont go into reverse and when i go forward with it its like it is very jumpy. very sketchy. this is my very first build and i am extremely frustrated. I have almost $600 in this build and its not working properly. I AM SERIOUSLY GETTING PISSED!!!!

Are you using the Castle link? Did you reprogram your throttle endpoints to the ESC? Sounds like it is in brushless mode, and if you bought it from a storefront there is a chance it was from the first batch that had a bug in the firmware that wouldn't allow for brushed mode with stick programming.

ok well after lots of searching on google i finally found out that the only way to get it working is to use the link in order to get it out of brushless mode man i wish i would of know that. would have saved a great deal of aggrevation. this hobby just keeps getting more and more expensive.

You should be able to select brushed mode via stick programming if the firmware is recent. Otherwise I could program it for you if you have no hobby shop or means around you.

I can do it if you meet me half way, don't think I am headed back over to Ocala any time soon. Maybe Citra or somewhere, then it would only be 20-25 mins for each of us. That is unless you want to come to Hawthorne.
