Does it coast just a touch,or will it not hold at all.

what battery,2s,3s,stick pack?

You can get some extra heavy springs for the brushes, that should help.

Check the neutral settings on your radio as well. If it is set slightly forward or backward, it will tend to coast a bit.

And yeah, like EP said, a new, quality motor will do wonders for drag!

The motor is fairly new but the truck isn't that heavy it's 5lbs 2oz with the battery and I'll say it would probably creep down a decent grade

if your trim isn't the issue i'd try another motor, I had a fresh out of the package venom 55t and it would not hold at all with the drag brake, put in the old integy motor and it'll do stoppies.

I'm not a fan of Integy products, however I do have a V11 35T running on 3s and an FX-R in my 9 pound scaler, and have no issue with drag. I did add Trinity Purple springs but other than that it's stock.

Unfortunately I think they're hit or miss.

I run a Br00d 40T Creep Type R in my 2.2 (5lbs 9oz) on 3s and an FX-R and it will roll slightly even at 100% drag. For what I was looking for in a motor I gave up a bit of mechanical drag in favor of smoother low end/start up.

Honestly, I modified my drive style for the better because of this motor. As Jeremy said, you will not be dissapointed with a Br00d
