I'm on my cell or I'd copy and paste and copy the links where ive seen ppl saying it's perfectly fine to use a 3s w/xl5. So , what's the real deal?? the box, instructions, and traxxas site say 2s and something in the ball park of 9.8V max. . I'm not looking to fry a new (as cheap as it may be) esc. Reason I ask is because I got a few 3s's lying around now and nothing to use them in, and only 1 2s . and I know just because in stock form parameters are recommended, we dont always follow them and modify away.
If it really isn't a good idea to run 3s's on it , how can I step the V down to 9V or so????

stick with 2s or you will fry it!! or you could go with life batteries? cheapbatterypacks.com have great 2s lipos super cheap. that's my .02
