too many choices/combos

man I'm confused. this forum has endless amounts of info. I'm building an axial scx 10 from the ground up, and so far the build is going well. The only thing that I'm having trouble with is choosing an esc/motor combo. I def. want to run lipo, and don't care about waterproofing. Hooking an esc up to a computer seems like a cool Idea, but I'm not sure if I need that. Are the novak rooster crawler/motor combos good for this type of build? I have a futaba pm-x radio on order and am trying to do this right. a little input appreciated
