| 7950 servo question
Hey guy's... I just got back into crawling after a 2 year absence.. anyway I bought a used crawler with a bec in it and mmm esc, along with a 3s lipo... before I stick a hitec 7950 servo in it, I wanted to check if it will be ok... I read hitecs website on this servo and it says that the servo was made for 2cell lipo applications... am I gonna be ok to run this servo on 3s?..... maybe because I have a bec will I be ok because I can limit the volt.. going to servo.... I may be wrong in my thinking but all in all can I run this servo on 3s without burning it up??...

You can run it direct with the BEC set at 7.4V or even 8.4V. There's a few threads here about wiring them directly to the power wires of the BEC and only the signal wire going to the rx. You could run it also at 6.0V BEC to Servo connector how are you powering your 7980? Last edited by Krakker; 01-13-2011 at 04:44 PM. |

Yeah....the 2S labeling means DIRECTLY powering the servo. You can run 3S through your ESC all day long and not have any issues with the servo. As Krakker said, set the BEC to 7.4V+ and you'll be golden. |

perfect... thanks guys.... soory for the bit of a new-b question but I have never run a crawler with the bec before.. I always just ran without one and never had any issues... this one is already hooked up and it looks like it is correct.... only issue is it is only set at 4.8 so I on the hunt to find someone in my area that has the link to re-set it lol!!
