| External (or add on) drag brake???
I have done a few searches with no results so here is the question: Does anyone make an external drag brake that can be added to a esc (like an XL-5) that would make a cheap, readily available and waterproof esc more crawlable? I am wondering because I must have 10 of the blue case XL-5's and a handfull of other cheapo esc's that are kinda useless to me. I know Castle makes external BEC's and Voltage Cut Off modules, I was just curious if anyone here has seen an "external drag brake". Thanks -Jeff Last edited by BladeMech; 01-14-2011 at 05:43 AM. |

You can add stiffer springs to your motor....not a perfect solution, but it will help with the drag.

Can also tightened up the gear mesh or add a Gear Reduction Unit.

Spend $20, and get the HPI gear reduction unit. All metal, w/bearings, and they have replacement parts for the guts. I love mine. Have it in a crawler with an XL-5 too. Works great - tons of grunt too!

Punk had a dig switch that had a dragbrake, not sure he still makes them. PunkRC Dig Switch with Drag Brake http://www.youtube.com/user/PunkRCVi.../7/Y6c_mVgwK3k Would be good for using on an moa, but not really cheap for using in single motor trucks. |
