Default dielectric grease question....

So got my servo in today and I have read about packing with dielectric grease to waterproof but wanted some more details. I have watched you tube and other vids using plastidip and whatnot, but not allot more detail on dielectric.
my question is do I pack the ENTIRE servo full of dielectric grease or just the bottom half around pcb board and motor. do I pack it around gears too?

I was thinking some thick grease on the gear that surrounds the output shaft where horn hooks. then dielectric grease everywhere else.
Is that right or will the grease and dielectric grease not play well with each other.

after packing grease I am gonna coat servo with plastidip or liquid tape

I have a hitec 645 that all I did was plasti-dip the case and put a rubber washer between the horn and servo. I have had it this way for about 6 months without any problems.

hmm rubber washer huh. interesting idea. it doesn't cause binding or excess friction

Its on the shaft of the servo so it moves whenever you turn and a dab of grease in the screw hole before you tighten down the horn

I pack my servo with dielectric grease and that was it didn't have to plastidip the outside, I also used an o-ring between the horn and servo and a dab of dielectric on the screw

I pack the servo FULL of as much electric grease as possible, gears and all. I have never had to plastidip a servo....too hard to open it up later if you need to.

cool thanks for the input everyone. I may just fill it up with grease and slap a little plastidip on the seams of servo case as insurance
