Default KOH/TTC powerplant options

I am looking to build a KOH/TTC style rig. I am undecided on what rote to take regarding motor and battery size.

I have 3s & 35t that I can pillage from another rig. I also have a 10T cobalt on 3s in a comp rig but I want to leave that wehere it is.

So I was thinking of maybe picking up a cheap brushless system off the classifieds such a a velineon 3s or maybe a Xceleron setup if the price is right.

As far as going brushless, i know that those systems in particular don't have drag brakes. What I'm really wondering is what KV of a motor is comparable to the 10T cobalt or a 35 turn? can the exceleron handle more that 3s? I would like something with a little more balls than a 3s/35turn with 87/14 gearing.

OR...

Would i be better off doing a Summit 2 speed and stick with something like a 35/45 turn on 3s?
