I can tell you i just picked one up at my LHS for under the aboved mention price. I think if you look hard enough and are a smart shopper you can grab one for around $90.

I love mine cause it's simple and easy to use. The ONLY thing i would change is the aux. channel button to be moved somewhere closer to the steering wheel. I don't like having to reach around and push the button to dig on my Losi. It's just an awkward movement. Other than that it's great.

It takes a few weeks to get used to the 3rd channel button, but I fully promote mine. The wantasummit moa hack is wonderful too. If you don't need a rx, you can find just the tx for cheap.

Here's what it doesn't do, no expo and only has one model memory. A decent esc will take care of the expo as far as throttle control. The mod really makes this radio capable for moa crawling. Hope this helps

I'm just curious why you'd get the DX3E if you already have a DX3R? Seems like it would be a step down?

I got the dx3e for the momentary switch and the front to rear drive bias, via the wantasummit.com radio mod. Dx3r design not have this option.
