Motor Timing?

I bought 2 HH 35t handwounds and I'm not smart enough to understand the directions how to tune the motor timing. I searched the :flipoff: out of the internet and this site and have found nothing. Can someone help me and if possible show some pics? I'm more of a visual person. Thanks!!

I might have it backwards, but I beleive turn the endbell clockwise to advance timing, been a while since i had to do this.

I tried the directions. It says to loosen the screws and turn the bell. I tried that and there are only 2 screw holes lol. So it either sits on normal or completely backwards.

Thanks for the thread, it looks like it will help!

The screws go into a ring that sits inside the motor. By loosening (not removing) the screws, you should be able to turn the end bell independently of the case.

To advance, turn the endbell in the opposite direction of the way the motor spins when moving forward. Meaning, if the motor turns clockwise to make the truck go forward, turn the endbell counterclockwise.

To retard, turn the endbell in the same direction.

Turning the endbell 180* will reverse the motors rotation.

Too much of either will result in poor performance and a short lifespan.
