Tekin Pro Handwound Specs?
 

I'm considering getting a pair of Tekin Pro Handwound 35t motors. I've searched the Team Tekin web site for specs and information on comm size, magnets etc., but cannot find any info. A search on the forum didn't give results either. Any info on detailed specs are much appreciated!

I did find a post saying that the Tekin Pro Handwounds are made by Fantom Racing. Does anyone know if the Tekin Handwounds are just relabeled Fantom Blitz motors?

I'm interested in Tekin motors because that's what I have easiest access to where I live.

The Tekins are produced by Fantom Racing based of a teardown from Sagami....which is the same as they use for the Blitz.

I'm sorry, but I'm not fully familiar with the meaning of 'teardown'.

Does this mean handwound motor manufacturers buy fully functional motors which they unwind and then rewind by hand, apply epoxy and balance? If so, then the can, magnets and endbell should be identical to the Blitz, but there might be differences in springs and brushess?

Tekin uses a laydown brush, Fantom uses a standup brush. Otherwise the specs are basically the same, they use the same parts. Not sure on the springs though. http://www.fantomracing.com/proddeta...?prod=FAN29100

A teardown is a blank motor that needs to be wound.

Both the fantom and the tekin handwounds Ive seen were built with the same "super heavy" silver spring that fantom uses.

Tekin may be using a laydown now, the ones I have rebuilt had a standup on them.....

The brush is the same though compound wise, just a 766 (laydown) instead of a 729 (standup).....both are the Quasar compound. Spring wise, may be different....

A teardown isn't always blank, as machine wound stocks and 19t teardowns exist....

But yes, these ones come blank....Fantom winds the arm, solders it, bakes it, cuts the comm and balances it.....motor is built after this....

Can anyone post pictures of a machine-wound Tekin and a hand-wound Tekin? 35T Would be ideal. I just picked up a couple used and the guy sold them as 35T hand-wounds and now that they have arrived they look just standard. Like every other cheap motors! Googled the topic and got lots of different images. I need to know if i need to refuse these or not.

they look the same. the only difference is on the sticker it says "Professional edition" and has a small red stripe at the end of the sticker.

The machined tekin motor cans are black and the handwounds are silver.

If you open one of each up side by side,there should be a noticable difference between the machine and handwound arms.
